Preventative Family Dentistry

Regular visits to the dentist are the best way to prevent any tooth pain or oral diseases. Using state-of-the-art technology, we are able to control any future problems before they become bigger problems or cause you any pain or discomfort. Preventative care begins at home with regular flossing and brushing; this regimen should always be followed up with regular visits to your family dentist for regular oral exams and cleanings. It's best to preserve your natural teeth, and with proper care at home and regularly scheduled dental visits, your chances will increase for maintaining your naturally beautiful smile.

Dental Implants

Dental implants may also be an option for those who are looking for a more permanent replacement for a missing tooth. A dental implant is an artificial root that is secured permanently into your jaw. Once secured, an artificial tooth or bridge is then placed onto the implant. Implants can also be used to support a full set of dentures. This option will provide you with full functionality and offer greater control when eating or speaking and requires less maintenance than custom dentures.

Tooth Whitening/Zoom!

Zoom is a whitening system provided by dental professionals. In about an hour, your teeth can be up to 8 shades whiter! This whitening system is great for people with a busy lifestyle or someone who just doesn’t want to hassle with nightly whitening trays. Dr. Langley is pleased to offer this tooth whitening process to her patients.

Crowns

Crowns, also known as "caps," are excellent for strengthening weak or damaged teeth. They cover the entire surface of the tooth and help prevent cracking or breaking in damaged teeth. Crowns can also be used to hold teeth together that are currently cracked or have a stronger possibility of breaking. Crowns also are used to keep fillings in place; crowns can also reduce and prevent pain.

Bridges

A dental bridge will, as the name suggests, cover the gap where a tooth is missing. A bridge is quite natural looking but is made up of an artificial tooth and two porcelain crowns. The crowns cover the natural tooth on both sides of the gap. The bridge is customized to fit your mouth properly and comfortably. Once fitted, it cannot be removed by hand or accidentally.

Fillings

Fillings are used to replace decayed portions of the tooth. Now available in a natural "tooth color," the natural-looking material is a stronger, visually pleasant alternative to silver and amalgam, and it feels much like your natural teeth. They may last for many years with proper care and regular dental visits.

Periodontal Cleaning

Periodontal cleaning, also know as, scaling and root planning, is a non-surgical treatment for the gums. The procedure is a careful cleaning of the root surfaces to remove plaque and calculus [tartar] from deep periodontal pockets and to smooth the tooth root to remove bacterial toxins. It is possibly followed by adjunctive therapy such as local delivery antimicrobials and host modulation, as needed on a case-by-case basis. After a periodontal cleaning, patients will require ongoing maintenance therapy to sustain health.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is used to correct tooth problems quickly and often within an office visit. An alternative to veneers and crowns, bonding is fast acting and produces superior results. Created using a tooth-colored resin on your tooth, it is formed and polished to match the damaged tooth surrounding teeth. The end result will be very natural looking and identical in beauty to your natural teeth.

Veneers

Also another way to repair and strengthen damaged teeth, veneers are an excellent way to help you achieve a beautiful, healthy-looking smile while hiding the imperfections in your tooth. Veneers are thin, porcelain shells bonded directly to the front of the tooth. They will cover stains, chips, and other flaws that may be visible in your smile and can help correct bite problems. The porcelain material used will be customized to match the size and color of your surrounding teeth. They are comfortable, strong, and very natural looking.

Custom Dentures

The Office of Kari H. Langley, DMD offers custom dentures for her patients. Custom dentures are an artificial set of teeth that can be removed in and out of the mouth. A custom denture allows the patient to select the tooth size, shape, and color. Custom dentures allow the patient to see a “demo” set of teeth prior to a set being fabricated to ensure likeability. Implant-retained dentures are an excellent choice to provide comfort and a natural “high-end” appearance. Stop in to visit Dr. Langley and discuss which type will best suit your needs.
